Musician, author, and scientist in that order. Born in Australia...moved to the US at 26 with our band, The Dingoes. We were managed by Lynyard Skynard's manager and were about to go on a tour with them.. After their tragic plane crash, we lost our way and broke up. I stayed in the US and became a biology teacher at Northwestern High School in Maryland. To be close to my second daughter, in 2012 I moved to a rural Florida town called Arcadia. I teach at DeSoto County High School. I rediscovered my musical bent and wrote and co-produced (with my son), three albums worth of material: Tassie Wolf (2016), If I'd Gone to Nashville (2019), and Work of Art (2022).
My book, The Dingoes Lament, was published in Australia in 2012.
I co-authored a published scientific paper, Dinosaur nest ecology and predation during the Late Cretaceous: was there a relationship between upper Cretaceous extinction and nesting behavior? in 2017.
I play at the Nocatee Community Center Guitar Circle most Thursdays. I credit Guy, Dennis, Luke, Carol, Vgo, Dave, Becky, Keith, Rita, Steve, and many others for reminding me, as Jon Corneal (Flying Burrito Brothers) said, "You are first a musician." I play with Jon's Compadres as often as Desoto County and Jon will let me. Frank Thomas, Pete Gallagher, Pat Barmore, and Rita Youngman of the Florida Folk Scene are or were inspirational in keeping music in my life.
